On starting, this illustration shows a chair conformation of cyclohexane in which the equatorial hydrogens are colored light green and the axial hydrogens are magenta. After five seconds, the molecule will reorient itself into a second chair conformation in which the axial hydrogens are green and the equatorial are magenta.
