Students who are successful in organic chemistry courses are able to solve a wide variety of problems by applying their knowledge to new situations. The most important part of your studying organic should be practicing problems. Your textbook is a wonderful source of problems. The resources on this site are intended as a supplement to your textbook.
Visualizing molecules in three dimensions and understanding how they appear from different perspectives is a key skill in organic chemistry. Organic chemists often desire to prepare molecules for study, so multi-step synthesis problems are another important aspect of this subject. As organic chemists prepare new materials, they characterize them spectroscopically to ensure they have isolated the correct product. This site provides tools to help students learn to visualize molecules (check out the tutorials linked on the left), learn reactions, and practice the interpretation of spectral data.
